Roberta Louise (Lane) Gore
Quincy, Roberta Louise (Lane) Gore, age 80, formerly of Mattapan, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Roberta was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late John G. and Mary Louise (MacNeil) Lane. She later became the step-daughter of the late Edward Schell.
She was raised and educated in Brooklyn, New York and Mattapan schools and was a graduate of the Jeremiah E. Burke High School for Girls. She had lived in Quincy for fifty-five years, previously in Mattapan.
Roberta was employed as a communications operator for the Quincy Police Department for many years.
She was devotedly religious and loved to celebrate her faith through church services and bible study. Roberta valued her friendships, many of which spanned decades.
The greatest love of Roberta’s life was her family. She was dedicated to her children and grandchildren and was fiercely loyal to those she loved. She also loved her dog, Bailey.
Wife of the late Edward S. Gore.
Devoted mother of David L. Gore and his partner Isabel of Quincy, Ellen L. Gore Patrolia and her husband Kevin of Norwell, Christine A. Gore and her partner Larry of Quincy, Matthew Gore of Quincy, Edward G. Gore and his partner Vikki of Quincy and the late Andrew L. Gore.
Loving grandmother of Jeffrey Gore and Jacqueline Gore both of Quincy, Racheal Patrolia and Lisa Patrolia both of Norwell.
Sister of the late Edward Lane and also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Tuesday, June 27th at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Agatha’s Church, Adams Street at Brook Road, East Milton at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home Monday 4 – 8 p.m. Interment Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
