Joan F. (Blake) Conti

Quincy, Joan F. (Blake) Conti, age 74, of Quincy, died peacefully, Thursday, October 19, 2017 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Joan was born in Boston to the late John F. and Gladys M. (Fournier) Blake. She was raised and educated in Quincy and was a lifelong Quincy resident.

She was employed for South Shore Mental Health for many years but her passion and life was centered on her family.

Joan was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She especially loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching them grow and actively participating in their many activities and accomplishments.

Along with her husband, Joe, she enjoyed traveling and winters in Marco Island, Florida for many years. She also enjoyed ceramics and knitting, and was well known for her cooking skills, especially her Italian dishes. Joan also loved her loyal dog, Jack.

Beloved wife for fifty-four years of Joseph Conti, Sr.

Devoted mother of Kim E. DiBona and her husband Peter, Quincy Fire Dept., Retired, of Quincy and the late Joseph Conti, Jr.

Loving grandmother of Kristen E. Russell and her husband John, Lauren M. DiBona and Daniel O’Connell, all of Quincy.

Cherished great grandmother of Lydia and Luke.

One of fourteen siblings, Joan was the sister of Thomas Blake of Wareham, James Blake of Quincy, Patricia Miller of Dorchester, Kathleen Tusi of Raynham, John Blake of New Hampshire, Carol McArthur, Debra Pomar, both of Weymouth, Elaine Barer of Taunton, Robert Blake of Hanover, Donna DiSalvio of Rockland, and was predeceased by Barbara Nigro, Mary Sturgeon, and Paul Blake.

Sister-in-law of Judith Kelcourse and her husband Edward of Weymouth, John “Jack” Conti of Quincy.

Joan is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Monday, October 23rd  at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home on Sunday 2 – 6 p.m. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.
