Winston N. "Nubby" Ciardelli

Quincy, Winston, N. “Nubby” Ciardelli, age 89, of Quincy, died peacefully, Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the John Scott House in Braintree in the care of his loving family.

He was born in Milford, New Hampshire to the late Albert and Violet (Welch) Ciardelli. He was raised and educated in Quincy schools. He also attended the former Vesper George School of Art and the former Butera School of Art both in Boston.

Nubby was a silk screen printer in the tradeshow industry for forty years and had worked for Giltspur, Inc. He had been retired over twenty years.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Seaman 1/c and was a member of the Cyril P. Morrisette American Legion Post #294 in Quincy. He was also a member of the Quincy Sons of Italy Lodge and the South Quincy Bocce Club.

Nubby was an accomplished artist and enjoyed oil painting, wood carving, cooking, gardening, walking, and spending time with his family, talking and sharing stories.

Beloved husband for sixty-five years of Florence P. (Carella) Ciardelli.

Devoted father of Stephen M. Ciardelli and his late wife Barbara of Lyndeborough, NH, James P. Ciardelli and his wife Peggy of Quincy, Paul M. Ciardelli and Donna Branco of Harwich.

Loving grandfather of Matthew Ciardelli, Haley Ciardelli and Jason DePaulo, Cara Ciardelli and her fiancé David Barber, Michael Ciardelli and the late Christopher Ciardelli.

Nubby was pre-deceased by his brother, Albert Ciardelli and his sister, Olivia Ciardelli. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Friday, December 22nd at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church, 95 Crescent Street, West Quincy at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home Thursday 4 – 7 p.m. At the request of the family interment services will be private.
