Theodore J. "Ted" Fleming, Jr.

South Boston, Theodore J. “Ted” Fleming, Jr., age 79, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Marian Manor in South Boston. 

Ted was born in Boston on March 21, 1938 to the late Theodore J. and Helen M. (Keif) Fleming.
He was raised in Quincy’s Adams Shore neighborhood and was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1958.  He had lived in South Boston for four years, previously in Quincy all his life.
He was a retired administrator for the City of Quincy’s Council on Aging for many years.  He had also worked for the Quincy Public Works Department.
Ted was a Boston sports fan and especially enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. He also enjoyed the PGA and was an avid Tiger Woods fan. 
He was a regular listener of the former Quincy radio station “WJDA” and followed Quincy politics with keen interest.
Ted was well-known for his keen sense of humor, wit and storytelling abilities.
Devoted brother of William E. Fleming and his wife Nancy of Braintree, David P. Fleming and his wife Janice of North Scituate and Brother Dennis J. Fleming, C.S.C of South Bend, Indiana.
Loving uncle of Andrew W. Fleming and his wife Amy of Cincinnati. OH, Christopher J. Fleming and his wife Lauren of New York City, NY, Carly E. Joseph and her husband David of Braintree.  
Ted is also survived by three grandnieces and three grandnephews.
Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Monday, October 16th at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 – 6 p.m.
At the request of the family, a reception will be held following the Funeral Mass. Interment services on Tuesday at Saint Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury will be private.

To Bill, Butch and Dennis. We share many good memories of growing up in Adams Shore. Ted was a great guy and a lot of fun. May he rest in peace.
