Eric J. Robertson

Quincy, Eric J. Robertson, age 75, of Quincy, originally from Dorchester, died suddenly, Friday, December 1, 2017.

Eric was born in Boston to the late Eric and Catherine (Lydon) Robertson. He was raised and educated in Dorchester and was a graduate of Dorchester High School. He had lived in Quincy for the past twenty years, previously in Weymouth and Milton.

Eric was proud to have served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

He was employed as a custodian for the VA for several years. Prior to that, he was employed with the Milton Public Schools.

Eric enjoyed following the Boston sports teams and was interested in politics. He also enjoyed participating in candlepin bowling tournaments and was a player/coach with the Clam Point Club softball team. Eric was a hard-working man who was devoted to his family.

Beloved husband for forty-six years of Carol A. (Finn) Robertson.

Devoted father of Eric M. Robertson and his wife Katie of Kingston, Sara J. Robertson of Boston.

Loving grandfather of Emma R. and Eric J. Robertson, Jordan D. Dupie.

One of nine siblings, Eric was the brother of Karen Landers, Al Robertson, Virginia Ryan, Joyce McDade, Donald Robertson, and was predeceased by Terry Sundstrom, Bruce Robertson, and Charles Robertson.

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Thursday, December 7 at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, 757 Hancock Street, Quincy at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Wednesday 5 – 8 p.m. Interment with Military Honors in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
