Andrea (Watson) Wilson
Weymouth, Andrea (Watson) Wilson, age 66, formerly of Wellesley, died peacefully, Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham, surrounded by her loving family.
Andrea was born in Caribou, Maine and was raised and educated in Weymouth. She was a graduate of Weymouth High School, Class of 1969 and Northeastern University School of Nursing. She later received certification in anti-coagulation therapy management from the University of Southern Indiana.
She was a registered nurse and had worked as head nurse for nine years at Massachusetts General Hospital in the historic Bulfinch Building. She was also employed at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital and later at the Brockton Neighborhood Health Center where she helped lead the anti-coagulation therapy management program for eight years.
She was proud to have received the Greater Brockton Service Award in recognition of her many contributions to the Brockton Neighborhood Health Center community.
Andrea was dedicated to her family and friends and loved to dine out and travel, having made many trips to Vermont, Maine, Florida and England. She was especially fond of relaxing on the front porches of friends Paula and Phyllis, and her special visits with Gracie the dog.
As a volunteer, Andrea took great joy in teaching Art Appreciation with the Wellesley Elementary School system for twelve years.
She was a former member of the Fort Square Presbyterian Church in Quincy.
Devoted mother of Melyssa Sieber and her husband Brad of Balfour, British Columbia, Canada, and Matthew Wilson and his wife Emily Denniston of Brooklyn, New York.
Cherished grandmother of Soren and Lief Sieber, Noah, Georgia and Calder Wilson.
Beloved daughter of Ruth (Byram) Watson of Weymouth and the late Lewis M. Watson.
Dear sister of Elaine Dietrich and her husband Roger of Vernon, Vermont.
Loving aunt of Kristen Dietrich of Vernon, Vermont and Eric Dietrich of Alexandria, Virginia.
Sister-in-law of Mary Kennedy of Champaign, Illinois.
Memorial Services will be conducted at the Fort Square Presbyterian Church, 16 Pleasant Street, Quincy on Thursday, August 31st at 11 a.m. Pastor John W. Culp will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
At the request of the family visiting hours have been omitted.
