Benjamin James DiBona

Quincy, Benjamin James DiBona, age 32, of Quincy, died after a long illness, Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born, raised and educated in Quincy. Ben graduated from Sandwich High School, Class of 2004. He then received an Associate’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising from Bay State College in Boston. He earned his cosmetology and hairdressing license from Empire Beauty School in Boston.
He worked at Sephora as well as the Clinique Department in Macy’s in Braintree.
Ben truly enjoyed his profession of helping make people look fabulous. He founded his own website service, Benjamin James, which allowed him to work directly with clients. Ben worked with models for commercials, television programs, movies, and fashion shows – including Candice Wu and David’s Bridal.
He was an animal lover and loved fashion and flowers. Ben was known for being vibrant and full of life and greeting you with his favorite saying, “you look fabulous, darling!”
Beloved son of Joanne M. (Buker) DiBona of Sandwich and Benjamin M. DiBona of Quincy.
Devoted brother of Jessica R. O’Brien and her wife Colleen of Weymouth.
Loving partner of Richard B. Payne, Jr. of Quincy.
Dear grandson of Benjamin E. DiBona of Weymouth and his late wife Loretta M. (Antonelli) DiBona and the late Harold S. and Ruth P. (Eaton) Buker.
He was also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Memorial Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Thursday, September 14th from 3-6 p.m. There will be a reception immediately following the visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ben’s memory may be made to the Quincy Animal Shelter, P. O. Box 690088, Quincy, MA 02269.
