Elsa M. (Olsson) Anderson

Quincy, Elsa M. (Olsson) Anderson, age 94, of Quincy, formerly of Holbrook, died peacefully, Saturday, August 5, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, surrounded by her loving family.

Elsa was born in the province of Smaland, Sweden to the late Gustav A. and Agnes (Andersson) Olsson. She immigrated to the United States as a child. She was raised in Quincy and was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1942. Elsa was also a graduate of the former Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1945.

She had lived in Quincy for nine years, previously in Holbrook for over fifty years.

Elsa was a Registered Nurse at the former Quincy City Hospital. She was a proud member of the Quincy City Hospital Nurse Alumni group.

Elsa was also a devoted homemaker who was dedicated to her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with her late husband, Victor, she was a longtime, active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Quincy.

Beloved wife for seventy years of the late Victor E. Anderson, who died April 27, 2017.

Devoted mother of Steven V. Anderson and his wife Maureen of Holbrook, Linda M. Johnson and her husband Kenneth of Bellingham, Stanley R. Anderson and his wife Carolann of Lakeville, and Cynthia L. Meaney and her husband Edward of Bridgewater.

Loving grandmother of ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Dear sister of the late Gustav E. Olsson and his wife Adele of Florida, and the late Johnny Olsson.

Elsa is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated in Faith Lutheran Church, 201 Granite Street, Quincy on Saturday, August 12th at 11 a.m. Pastor Heidi Johnston will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Elsa’s memory may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 201 Granite Street, Quincy, MA 02169.
