Alberto B. Duarte, age 82, of Braintree, died peacefully, Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at CareOne at Weymouth.

Born in Brava, Cabo Verde, Portugal, to the late Francisco Lopes and Maria (Bella) Duarte, he was raised and educated there. He immigrated to the United States in 1959 at the age of nineteen, settling in Roxbury. He had lived in Braintree for the past forty-five years.

Alberto was a finish carpenter and retired from the Perini Construction company after many years of hard work. He was a longtime member of Carpenters Local 218.

Most of all, Alberto was devoted to his family and enjoyed supporting their many activities and accomplishments.

Beloved husband for fifty-two years of Diana H. (DaSilva) Duarte.

Devoted father of Stephen M. Hansen of Florida, Darlene Rizza and her husband David of Braintree, Daron Duarte of Carver, and Daniel Duarte of Braintree.

Loving grandfather of seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

One of five siblings, he was the dear brother of Ana Amador of Dorchester and was predeceased by three brothers.

Alberto is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Friday, March 5, from 9-10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Services are operating in accordance with current guidelines.

His Funeral Service and Interment at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree will take place privately.
