Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Johnson) Triglia, age 81

Marshfield, Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Johnson) Triglia, age 81, of Marshfield, formerly of Quincy and Humarock, died peacefully, Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the South Shore Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born in Quincy to the late Edwin G. and Anna (Monti) Johnson. Raised in Quincy, she was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1955. She had lived with her daughter, Anita, in Marshfield for several years, previously all her life in Quincy. She was also a longtime summer resident of Humarock.

As a young woman, she as employed at the former Fore River Shipyard in Quincy as an administrative assistant for several years. Betty later worked for the former Granite Trust Company in Quincy.

Betty was a longtime active parishioner of Saint Mary’s Parish in West Quincy. She was involved in the religious education program, the RCIA program, served as a Eucharist Minister and was always a willing volunteer.

In Humarock, Betty was a member of the South Humarock Civic Association and served as treasurer for the Bingo program for several years.

Betty was devoted to her family and was a compassionate healthcare provider for her parents and many aunt and uncles. Most of all, she was dedicated to her children and grandchildren, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.

Beloved wife for fifty years of the late James Gaetano Triglia, a former Norfolk County Deputy Sheriff and former retired Quincy Police Officer.

Devoted mother of James E. Triglia of Marshfield, Anita T. Aldoupolis, Director of Civil Process for the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Department and her husband Thomas of Marshfield, the late Elizabeth T. “Beth” Pollara and her husband Stephen of Marshfield.

Loving grandmother of Kara Hesketh and her husband Matthew, Kristen O’Brien and her husband Terrence, Rachel Pollara, Stacia Triglia, James Triglia II, Therese Triglia, Nicholas Kintigos, Ryan Kintigos, Domenic Aldoupolis, Catrina Morgan and Kyle Aldoupolis.

Cherished great grandmother of Michael, Abigail and William.

Dear sister of the late Edwin C. Johnson and his wife Francena M. Johnson of Norfolk. Betty is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Friday, January 18th at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church, 95 Crescent Street, West Quincy at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.
