Eugenia Assunta “Bella” (Faiella) Seoane, age 92

Weymouth, Eugenia Assunta “Bella” (Faiella) Seoane, age 92, of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the Sunrise of Braintree, surrounded by her loving family.

Eugenia was born in Quincy to the late Aristide and Assunta “Susie” (Sforza) Faiella. Raised in Quincy, she was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1943. Bella had lived in Weymouth for sixty-two years, previously in Quincy. She and her late husband, Luis, enjoyed winters in Del Ray Beach, Florida for twenty-one years.

For most of her life, she was employed in the accounting industry as a bookkeeper. She proudly worked for over twenty years with her sons at the Seoane Garden Center in Abington where she made many friendships and recently retired at the age of 89. She had also worked as a bookkeeper for many years at the South Shore Hospital. As a young woman, she had worked at the former Raytheon Company in Quincy.

Bella and her husband enjoyed travelling, socializing and playing cards with an endearing group of couples and friends. Together they participated in parades with their antique 1929 Ford Model A.

She was a volunteer and member of the bowling league at Saint Francis of Xavier Church in Weymouth for many years. She was talented at crocheting and made four hundred teddy bears which were donated to children’s cancer hospitals in Florida and Massachusetts.

Most of all, Bella was dedicated to her family and especially to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Technology allowed her to communicate and participate in all their many activities.

Beloved wife for sixty-nine years of the late Luis Fabio Seoane, who recently died on June 10, 2018.

Devoted mother of Luis A. Seoane and his wife Jane S. (Hubbell) Seoane of Marshfield, Susan Seoane Blair and her husband Ron A. Blair of Arvada, Colorado, David G. Seoane and his wife Susan (Meagher) Seoane of Norwell.

Loving grandmother of Jenna Seoane of Denver, CO, Kendra Seoane and her fiancé Chris DeCicco of Boulder, CO, Corey Blair of Arvada, CO, Emily Rose Blair and her fiancé Kyle Hill of Gunnison, CO, Michael and David Seoane both of Norwell. Cherished great grandmother of Aluxzander Blair of Arvada, CO and Landon Ash Hill of Gunnison, CO.

Dear sister of the late Louis N. Faiella. Bella is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Tuesday, February 26th at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home Monday 4 – 8 p.m. Interment Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.

  • I want to express my condolences to the Seoane family on the loss of the matriarch of the Seoanes. I think a life is judged by the fruit it produces and clearly Mrs. Seoanes was a very accomplished one. Rest in Peace.
