Irene L. Gaudiano, age 82

Irene L. (DiBona) Gaudiano, age 82, of Braintree, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Saturday, February 22, 2025 at AccentCare Inpatient Hospice Center – Milton.

Irene was born, raised, and educated in Quincy. She was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1961.

She lived in Braintree for the past six years, previously in Quincy for all her life.

Irene was employed as a clerk for the Quincy Mutual Fire Insurance Company for many years. Prior to that, she worked at the former Walworth’s in Canton.

Irene’s late husband, Gerard, was a member of the Cyril P. Morrisette American Legion Post 294 and she enjoyed attending events with him.

She enjoyed exercising with friends and crocheting.

Beloved wife of the late Gerard Gaudiano.

Devoted daughter of the late Adolph and Marietta (Cardarelli) DiBona.

Loving aunt of Michelle S. (DiBona) Matthews.

Cherished great aunt of Mark and Dana, and great-great aunt of Kaitlyn, Mathieu, and Kelsie.

Irene is also survived by Gerard’s children, Pamela Gaudiano and Daniel Gaudiano. She was predeceased by Gerard’s grandson, Matthew G. Gaudiano.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Thursday, February 27, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Interment Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.

  • I had the distinct pleasure of working with Irene and her cousin Mela at Walworth for many years. She was one of the nicest people I’ve ever worked with. RIP. Irene.
