James D. Peach, age 86

Quincy, James D. Peach, age 86, of Quincy, formerly of Allston, died peacefully, Thursday, November 1, 2018, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

James was born in Boston to the late James I. and Laura A. (Kenny) Peach. He was raised in Allston and had lived in Quincy for fifty-seven years.

He was employed as a credit manager in the electronics industry and had worked for the former Demanbro Electronics in Boston and the former Schweber Electronics.

James proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, as a CS3 aboard the attack cargo ship, U.S.S. Marquette (AKA 95).

He enjoyed travelling, loved his garden and was an excellent cook. He was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

Most of all, James was dedicated to his family and especially to his cherished grandchildren, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.

Beloved husband for fifty-seven years of Patricia M. (McDonagh) Peach.

Devoted father of Susan T. McCusker and her husband, Richard McCusker, Captain, Quincy Police Department of Hingham, Deborah M. Long and her husband Robert Long of Georgetown and Brian J. Peach of Weymouth.

Loving grandfather of Meghan, Katie and Allison McCusker all of Hingham, Robert, Tracy and Thomas Long all of Georgetown.

One of five siblings, James was brother of Richard Peach and his wife Phyllis of Newton and was pre-deceased by Dorothy Duffy, Stanley Peach and Jane Ryan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Saturday, November 10th at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church,1015 Sea. Street, Quincy at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home on Friday from 4 – 7 p.m.  Private interment services, with Military Honors, at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of James may be made to the America Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-1803.

  • Very saddened by Jim passing away. He was a true gentleman. Always loved chatting to him when we met up in Ireland and when we visited Boston and when he visited us in Lindon. He had so many stories to tell and had such a great sense of humour. Jim was very much a family man and greatly loved all his family and close relatives.
    Jim passed away on all saints day, he will be in great company. He will be greatly missed. He will always be in our prayers 🙏🙏🙏. RIP
