Judith A. (Zambruno) Palaza, age 67

Quincy, Judith A. (Zambruno) Palaza, age 67, a lifelong Quincy resident, died peacefully, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, surrounded by her loving family.

Judith was born in Quincy to the late John and Angelina (Paolucci) Zambruno. Raised in Quincy, she was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1969.

She had been employed as a hairdresser and was known as an excellent cook. She enjoyed sharing her cooking skills with her granddaughter, Elena.

Judith was devoted to her family and friends.

Beloved wife for forty-four years of Augustus J. “Gus” Palaza.

Devoted mother of Augustus J. “Butch” Palaza, Jr. and his wife Erica of Winchester, Virginia.

Loving grandmother of Max and Elena.

One of four siblings, Judith was sister of Kevin J. Zambruno of Quincy and pre-deceased by John Zambruno, Jr. and Paul Zambruno. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Saturday, January 12th at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church, 95 Crescent Street, West Quincy at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Memorial Visiting Hours at the funeral home Friday, January 11th from 4 – 7 p.m. At the request of the family, interment services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Judith’s memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Memorial Contributions, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
