Kathleen P. (Connell) MacMillan, age 80

Quincy, Kathleen P. (Connell) MacMillan, age 80, of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, died peacefully, Thursday, October 11, 2018, at John Adams HealthCare Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Kathleen was born in Boston, raised and educated in Dorchester and was a graduate of Saint Ann’s School in Neponset and the former Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School. Kathleen had lived in Quincy for fifty years, previously in Dorchester.

Kathleen began her career as a switchboard operator in the telephone industry. She went on to work in the cafeteria of the Snug Harbor Community School in the Germantown section of Quincy for over twenty years.

She enjoyed animals, especially cats, and was an avid gardener and collector of knickknacks. Kathleen was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph E. MacMillan.

Devoted mother of Michael F. MacMillan and his wife Lorri of California, Robert J. MacMillan of Abington.

Loving daughter of the late Francis J. and Helen (Myers) Connell.

Dear sister of the late Frank J. Connell.

Kathleen is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Monday, October 15th at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home Sunday 2-5 p.m. Interment New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.
