Robert G. Saluti, age 72

Canton, Robert G. Saluti, age 72, of Canton, formerly of Quincy, passed away at home, Sunday, October 7, 2018.

Robert was born in Quincy to the late Aldo M. and Anna L. (Mirra) Saluti. He was raised in Quincy and was a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School, Class of 1964 and earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Northeastern University in 1969. Bob had lived in Canton for forty-three years and also enjoyed spending time with his family in Harwich Port on Cape Cod.

He was employed as a civil engineer and construction project manager for the Travi Construction Company in Norwell for many years and previously had worked for the former Charles T. Main, Inc. of Boston.

Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He loved traveling with his wife, Joanne, and also enjoyed bowling, sailing and fishing.

Most of all, Bob was dedicated to his family and especially to his twelve cherished grandchildren, actively supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.

Beloved husband for forty-seven years of Joanne (Passaretti) Saluti.

Devoted father of Anna Kirsch and her husband Brian of Duxbury, Sandra Saluti of Boston, Carolyn Saluti-Buckley and her husband Bob of Bourne, Elizabeth LaFlesh and her husband Tom of South Hadley, Alison Nelson and her husband Jon of Bourne and Andrew Saluti of Boston.

Loving Grampy of Owen, Eli and Lauren Kirsch, Benjamin, Claire, Zachary and Cameron Buckley, Sienna, Samantha and Victoria LaFlesh, Jack and Zeke Nelson.

Dear brother of Joanne Dieso and her husband Daniel of Holbrook. Bob is also survived and loved by many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Gerard Majella Church, 1860 Washington Street, Canton on Saturday, October 13th at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Friday, October 12th from 4  – 8  p.m. Interment with Military Honors at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.

For those who wish, donations in Bob’s memory may be made  to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
