Quincy, Robert R. Skjold, of Quincy, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 4, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Mary Ann (Fix) Skjold.

Devoted father of Suzanne and Christine Skjold.

Brother-in-law of Stephen Fix and father-in-law of Robert Nichols.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 9th from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy. The funeral procession will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10th at the funeral home, and the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Agatha Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton. Military Honors will follow. All relatives and friends are invited to attend. The burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory may be made to Interfaith Social Services, 105 Adams Street, Quincy, MA 02169.

  • Bob was like an uncle to us, so very very special. I will miss him enormously but I know he’s in heaven with his best buddy, my dad. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Mary Ann and Christine and Suzanne. ❤️

  • Bob was such a great person. He was kind and had a great sense of humor. He was also a terrific dancer, and would liven up any event he attended. He was like an uncle to me and my family and we will never forget him. He is now in with his best friend, my father. My deepest sympathies go out to the family in their time of need.

    I was so sorry to hear the news of Bob’s passing from OLLI. Bob taught me Tai chi, I should say he tried very hard to teach me! I took his class twice and he was always encouraging and just a real gentleman. I was going to sign up for the fall session. He will be missed. I am so very sorry for your loss and I will remember him in my prayers.
