Joyce M. Ovens, age 89

Joyce M. (Kemplen) Ovens, age 89, of Weymouth, died peacefully, Saturday, August 23, 2025 at CareOne at Weymouth, in the comfort of her loving family.

Joyce was born in London, England, to the late Ernest Redverst and Rose Emily-Elizabeth (Plack) Kemplen. Raised and educated there, she immigrated to the United States in 1955 at the age of twenty, first settling in Scranton, Pa.

She lived in Weymouth for the past four years, previously in Quincy for several years, and earlier in Braintree, as well as Florida and Texas.

Joyce was a homemaker who was devoted to her family, actively supporting their many activities and accomplishments.

She was a member of the English Wives of Boston and enjoyed bowling and dancing.

Beloved wife of the late Kenneth H. Ovens, Sr.

Devoted mother of Sandra D. Aucoin and her husband Steven of Braintree, Mark S. Ovens and his wife Julie of Titusville, Fla., Johnny R. Ovens and his husband Anthony Balamotis of Carver, and the late Kenneth H. Ovens, Jr. and his surviving wife Kari of Laguna Beach, Calif.

Loving grandmother of Michael Aucoin and his wife Bri, Joseph Aucoin and his wife Siobhan, Brittany Ovens, Mark Ovens, and Trey Ovens.

Cherished great grandmother of Michael, Jr., Ashlinn Rose, Ryan, and Mikey.

One of ten siblings, she was the dear sister of Brenda Townsend of England.

Joyce is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

At the request of the family, funeral services were private.
