  • Janan, So few words to express my sadness for you and your family. I wish you many happy memories and lots of love from family and friends to help you through this painful time.

  • Allen was a great cousin. Just two weeks ago we were together for my mom’s service (his Aunt Betsy). We talked a little politics, but mostly reminisced about family and growing up. Allen and I have visited over the years, and in Spring, I spent some time with him touring Boston and Salem; we had a wonderful time. His caring and interest in others were very authentic and his take on life was always with humor, sometimes, rather often, inappropriate, but never mean. Allen, tell Mommy I said hi.

  • Dear Janan and Caitlin – it was a joy to meet you all a couple of years ago when you came to England. We warmed to you all immediately and just wish we could have spent more time with Allen. We always thought we would meet again and talk ‘music’ but life has its surprises. We are so very sorry for your loss. Much love and peace to you at this very sad and difficult time.

  • I was very shocked to here this sad news. We also had a chance to reminisce about the Hornberger family reunions we attended growing up at Betsy’s funeral just two weeks ago. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Janan and your family. at this difficult time. Hold on to all the wonderful memories you all have of a very caring and devoted person. Your loving ❤️ Cousin Cindy.

  • RIP Allen. Had met Allen as he once directed BCS.
Sympathy goes out to his family, friends and church members.
A really nice and talented man. Sorry to read he passed.

  • So very sorry and shocked to heat on the Sunday Service today from FPC (on line), of the passing of Allen. I was glad to have spoken with him last month upon my return trip io Quincy from New Hampshire/Virginia. I was a member of FPC for many years growing up and was in the choir, President of the Senior High Fellowship, and a ruling Elder while at Bentley in Boston. I am praying for Allen’s family and friends and I am so happy for our conversation last month. Best regards.

  • I remember Allen as a great teacher and a fantastic guy. May his memory be for a blessing.

  • Very sorry for your loss. Ooooge

  • So shocked and saddened to hear of Allen’s sudden passing.Thinking of you Janan wishing you and family peace and love at this sad time

  • Mr. Thomas was so loved at Holbrook Schools. He was a major part of my school experience throughout my childhood. He made music so much fun and he was hilarious. Lots of laughs and good memories. It’s very sad to hear the news of his passing, as he was a huge part of so many students’ school experience. Sending much love, blessings, and support to the family. Love always, Salena.

  • Mr Thomas was and is such a massive inspiration to me. I pursued a life filled with creativity especially music because of him. I’ve thought about him daily since graduation and will continue to do so. My deepest condolences to his family and biggest regrets for being unable to attend

  • I was so saddened to hear of Mr Thomas’ passing. He had such a remarkable ability to reach the young people in his care as a teacher over decades in Holbrook. He provided a safe space for students to not only learn about music, but about themselves, during a critical time in their development. He will be greatly missed not only by his loving family & friends, but by his students, their parents, colleagues, and all the hearts he touched throughout his life. My sincere condolences to his loving family..
