Carol E. Damiano, age 78

Carol E. (Anderson) Damiano, a lifelong resident of Quincy and a proud Houghs Necker, died peacefully, Tuesday, September 2, 2025 in the comfort of her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born in Quincy on October 4, 1946 and was only 78 years young and as the saying goes, “Only the good die young.” Godspeed to this extraordinary woman. Those who knew her were truly blessed.

Raised by her late parents, John and Mary (Cody) Anderson, Carol was educated in Quincy, and was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1964.

Carol was employed as the principal clerk in the City of Quincy’s Clerk’s Office for over thirty years, where she made many friendships.

She had a passion for cruising, always planning her next adventure and dreaming of the many destinations she still wished to explore before cancer intervened. Now, she embarks on a heavenly cruise with her late husband, Peter, traveling through the places she longed to visit while keeping a watchful eye on us from above. She was truly an angel during her time on earth.

Carol was a woman of faith and a lifelong active parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Quincy, where she sang in the choir. She was a person who would do anything for anyone, and was known for her ever-present smile.

Most of all, Carol was devoted to her family and especially her cherished grandchildren, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.

Beloved wife of the late Peter J. Damiano, Jr.

Devoted mother of Julie L. Delle Chiaie and her husband Bruce of Hanson, Peter J. Damiano and his husband Victor Christianson of Germany.

Loving grandmother of Zachary and his wife Kayla, Evan and his girlfriend Savanah, Trey Delle Chiaie and his girlfriend Briana, and Amanda.

Dear sister of Christina “Chrissy” Connors and her husband Bill of Quincy and sister-in-law of Dianne Mancuso and her husband Rich of Rockland and James “Jim” Damiano of Pembroke.

Her beloved granddogs, Sierra, Bubba, and Winston, who spent countless hours lounging with their Nana, will feel her absence profoundly.

Carol is also survived by numerous family and friends who will miss her dearly.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Holy Trinity Parish at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1015 Sea Street, Quincy, on Tuesday, September 9, at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation prior to the Mass at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, from 9:15- 10:45 a.m. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.

Carol donated to everything, so for those who wish, donations in Carol’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
