Dianne M. Sandonato, age 76

Dianne M. (Stevens) Sandonato, age 76, a lifelong resident of Quincy, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, surrounded by the love that defined her life.

Dianne was born in Quincy, to the late Helen (Mason) and John Stevens. Raised in Quincy, she was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1967.

Dianne was the well-known owner and operator of the former Frank McKenney Hair Salon in Weymouth. She worked at the salon for thirty-five years and had been retired for several years.

Dianne was a member of the South Shore YMCA and the Kennedy Center in Quincy where she cultivated many friendships.

She and her husband, Fran, enjoyed spending summers in Wareham and winters in Naples, Fla. with their community of friends. She enjoyed participating in water aerobics there. She and Fran also had a passion for boating. Dianne was also a talented cook – her kitchen was everyone’s home and where many came to know her as a second mother. She was the ultimate mom.

Most of all, Dianne was devoted to her family, especially her children and grandchildren, actively supporting their many activities and accomplishments. She cherished time spent with them.

Devoted mother of Dean A. Sandonato and his wife Christine, and her daughter and very best friend, Amy (Sandonato) Winer and her husband Zack.

Loving grandmother of Ava, Ella, and Max Sandonato; Duke and Jordan Winer.

Dear sister of Barry Stevens and his wife Andrea, Douglas “Red Peters” Stevens and his partner Lianne Shields, and John Stevens, Jr.

A Memorial Funeral Mass and Celebration of Dianne’s Life will take place at a later date.
