Carol A. Chami, age 73

Carol A. (Corcoran) Chami, age 73, of Quincy, died peacefully, Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born in Boston, to the late Thomas and Doris C. (Joyce) Corcoran. Raised in Stoneham, she was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1970. She was also a graduate of the Boston University School of Nursing, Class of 1974. She was a proud resident of Quincy for thirty-six years.

She was a registered nurse and employed as project manager for Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group in Boston for over thirty-five years, having recently retired. Carol began her nursing career working at various Boston hospitals, including Boston Children’s Hospital and the former Mass Rehabilitation Center, now known as the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.

Carol enjoyed water aerobics at the South Shore YMCA in Quincy where she made many friendships.

She enjoyed the ocean, traveling, restaurant dining, and cooking. Most of all, Carol was devoted to her family and friends and loved family gatherings on Cape Cod.

Beloved wife for thirty-five years of Mohamad Chami.

Devoted mother of Michelle Chami of Quincy.

One of six siblings, Carol was the dear sister of Cyndy Bush of Topsham, Maine, Mary Corcoran and her husband Howard Erman of Ann Arbor, Mich., Barbara Sherman and her husband Robert of Pelham, N.H., Thomas Corcoran of Burlington, Vt. and his late wife Patricia, and David Corcoran and his wife Elaine Tung of Lexington.

Carol is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws and their families.

She was also the cherished and longtime loyal friend of Linda Boisvert of Braintree.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Monday, October 6, from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 7, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.
