Audrey M. Shea, age 92

Audrey M. (Craig) Shea, age 92, of Hanson, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Audrey was born in Quincy, to the late Catherine (Poluzzi) and Frank Craig. Raised and educated there, she was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1952. She lived in Hanson for over twenty years, previously in Quincy for most of her life.

Audrey was a dedicated homemaker but had also worked as an administrative assistant in the corporate offices for the former RadioShack in Randolph for eight years.

She enjoyed traveling, especially with her good friend, Patricia Cardarelli, bird watching, and watching golf, cooking shows and old movies, especially Westerns.

Most of all, Audrey was devoted to her family, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments. She was fiercely independent and unapologetically herself — never one to shy away from speaking her mind or standing firm in what she believed. Grounded in conviction and guided by a strong sense of self, she lived life on her own terms. While she may have shown it in her own way, Audrey cared deeply for those close to her, offering love that was steady, genuine, and unmistakably hers. Her presence was bold, her voice honest, and her heart wide open to those she held dear.

Beloved wife of the late Robert R. Shea, who passed away in 1992.

Devoted mother of Kevin T. Shea and his wife, Katie of Tewksbury, Denise P. Halpin and her husband, James of Sandwich, Craig R. Shea and his wife, Maureen of Brockton, Joseph M. Shea and his wife, Janet of Hanson, and Michael D. Shea and his wife, Ellen of Hanson.

Loving grandmother of Marjorie Dunlap and her husband, Robert, Mark Shea and his wife, Leah, Orion Shea and his girlfriend, Melissa, Corey Shea and his wife, Briana, Elias Shea and his fiancée, Jessica, Terresa McGroarty and her husband, Matt, Emily Shea and her boyfriend, Jason, Hunter Shea and his wife, Jaelynn Madison Shea and her boyfriend, Brian, Michael Shea and his wife, Laine and Alex Shea and his girlfriend, Julia; and cherished great grandmother of Kevin, Rachael and Leah Dunlap, Abigail and Rylie Shea, Teddy and Hailey Shea, Munroe, Auna and Kallahan Shea and her eleventh great grandchild due to arrive in November.

One of eight siblings, she was the dear sister of Catherine E. “Kitty” Stone of Weymouth, and predeceased by Frank Craig, William Craig, Harold Craig, Joseph Craig, Barbara L. Evans, and Robert G. Craig.

Dear cousin of Paula Ryan of Marshfield. Audrey is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Sunday, October 19, from 2 – 5 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, October 20, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.

  • We loved her uniqueness, honesty, love and devotion to all. I smile when I remember that I was called “ little Audrey “ when I was young. I guess we each displayed a sense of independence. She was a special cousin and will truly be missed. 🙏💞

  • Remembering all the fun times we had when we were young. Picnics at the park, cottage in Plymouth
and even my back yard in Rockland . Always in my heart. Love to the family. “Aunt Shirley”

  • Remembering Aunt Audrey with love ❤️. She was always so kind to me and always had a smile and a wise remark that left me laughing. I had a beautiful conversation with her just a few months ago, she spoke about her family with such joy and pride. When I was in my late teens she told me I needed to ditch “the stuffed shirt” and find someone fun who would make me laugh and smile for years. She was exactly right my high school boyfriend was a stuffed shirt and I did ditch him and found my true love who has made me smile for 40+ years. Thank you Aunt Audrey for sharing your love with me., May you rest in peace now and forever. You were a gem ❤️

  • To all the Shea Cousins, I am so sorry and very sad about Aunt Audrey. She was quite the character and truly one of a kind. The last time I saw her, she complimented me on the dress I was wearing. I said to her “Oh Auntie, that’s so sweet”. And then she looked at me with “the look” and said “Sweet?? I am not sweet!”. Classic Audrey! I will cherish this memory forever and she will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️ 🙏
