Mario A. Di Cesare, Jr., age 60

Mario A. Di Cesare, Jr., age 60, a longtime resident of Braintree, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

Mario was born in Quincy, raised and educated in Quincy and Braintree, and was a graduate of Braintree High School, Class of 1983. He was also a graduate of the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Class of 1987, with a bachelor of science degree from the College of Design and Construction. He lived in Braintree for most of his life.

He was employed for the past ten years as an estimator for AECOM Tishman, Boston, a project management and coordination corporation. Previously, Mario had worked his whole career as an estimator for various construction companies.

Mario was involved with several professional organizations and was past president of the American Society of Professional Estimators, Chapter 25, Boston, where he made many friendships.

Mario was a knowledgeable fan of all Boston sports teams and all college athletics but his passion was golf. He was an avid golfer and golf club aficionado and collector. He enjoyed playing different courses with family and friends, throughout New England and internationally. His golfing travel included Cape Cod, Newport, R.I., as well as Italy, Portugal, and the Dominican Republic.

He was devoted to his family, especially his mother and late father, siblings, and his nieces and nephews, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.

Beloved son of Silvana C. (Marinilli) Di Cesare and the late Mario A. Di Cesare.

Devoted brother of Elena C. Montillo and her husband Gerardo of Braintree, George A. Di Cesare and his wife Katherine of Norwood.

Loving uncle of Antonio, Alexa, Alessandro Di Cesare, Gianvito and Silvia Montillo.

Mario is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and their families.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Wednesday, November 12, from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, on Thursday, November 13, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

  • The Di Cesare and Hartley Families are incredibly saddened by the loss of our nephew, cousin and friend. Mario was a quiet strength, reliable and kind to all those in his path. We remember fondly family times spent together and we will miss him.
