Richard McCann, age 62

Richard McCann, age 62, of Hingham, passed away, peacefully, Friday, December 5, 2025 at Boston Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family

Richard was born in Quincy, to Catherine S. (Allison) McCann of Quincy and the late Richard J. McCann, Jr. Raised and educated in Duxbury, he was a graduate of Duxbury High School, Class of 1981. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Norwich University, Class of 1985. He lived in Hingham for over thirty years.

He was a sales associate at the former R. S. Hamilton Fish Company in Boston’s Seaport District for over twenty years.

Richard was a member of the Holy Name Society at Saint Joseph’s Church in Quincy. He was also an active volunteer at the Saint Joseph’s Food Pantry.

He was an avid Boston sports fan.

Husband of Doris S. (Blaikie) McCann.

Devoted father of Richard Patrick McCann and his wife Ashley of N.Y. and Emma Patricia McCann of Hingham.

Loving grandfather of Isabella and Cameron.

Loving brother of Alyson J. McCann of West Greenwich, R.I. and her late husband Jake O’Neil, and Kristen A. Lacasse and her husband Gerry of Milton.

Loving uncle of Sarah and her husband Luke, Ryan, Catie, Bobby, and Anna.

Dear nephew of Robert S. “Bob” Allison of Quincy.

Son-in-law of Patricia Blaikie of Hingham and the late Robert Blaikie.

Brother-in law of Robert Blaikie and his wife Maria of Danvers.

Brother to Catherine Mori and her husband Chris of Plymouth, uncle to Margaret Mori and Caroline Mori.

Graveside Services will be conducted at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, 20 Sea Street, Quincy, on Monday, December 22, at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Those attending should enter from the Sea Street Gate by 11:15 a.m.

For those who wish, donations in Richard’s memory may be made to the Saint Joseph’s Food Pantry, c/o 556 Washington Street, Quincy, MA 02169.
