Rose Marie Renda, age 95

Rose Marie (Marchese) Renda, age 95, a longtime resident of North Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Sunrise of Braintree, in the comfort of her loving family.

Rose was born in Quincy, to the late Frances (Barone) and Sebastian Marchese. Raised and educated there, she was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1947. She lived in North Weymouth for over forty-five years, previously in Quincy.

Rose worked as a seamstress in the garment industry in Quincy for many years.

She was a longtime parishioner of Saint Jerome’s Church in North Weymouth. She was also a member of Saint John the Baptist Church Senior Group in Quincy and the Whipple Senior Center in Weymouth, where she made many friendships.

Rose was devoted to her family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph Renda.

Devoted mother of Anita Marie Renda of Rockland, Joseph Renda, Jr. and his wife Jo-anne of Mansfield.

Loving grandmother of Amar Alhakim and his fiancé Ana Lantigua, Dawn Simms and her wife Cary, Danielle Erickson and her husband Charles, and Joseph “Sonny” Renda III and his wife Kristen.

Loving great grandmother of Isla and John Erickson.

Dear sister of the late Joseph Marchese, Carmelo Marchese, and Ann Kelliher.

Rose is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Friday, January 9, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation prior to the service from 9 – 10:30 a.m. Entombment at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
