Stephen A. Rizzo, age 47

Stephen A. Rizzo, age 47, of Quincy, died suddenly, Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Stephen was born in Stoneham and raised in Lynnfield. He was a graduate of Lynnfield High School, Class of 1996, and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Salem State University, Class of 2002. He lived in Quincy for the past eighteen years.

Steve was employed as a Director of Talent Acquisition for Liberty Mutual Insurance for thirteen years.

Steve had a passion for fishing, and was a talented cook who enjoyed dining. Most of all, he was devoted to his family, especially his children, actively supporting their many activities, sporting events, and accomplishments.

He was an amazing person in every sense – loving, steady, and deeply devoted to those he cared for.

Beloved husband for twenty-three years of Suzanne N. (Civitarese) Rizzo.

Devoted father of Dylan H. Rizzo, Brooklynn C. Rizzo, and Baylor H. Rizzo.

Cherished son of Suzanne C. (Hardy) Rizzo of Middleton and the late Henry Rizzo.

Loving brother of Andrea Privitera and her husband Frank of Woburn, Renee Colucciello and her husband John of North Reading.

Much-loved uncle of Olivia, Anthony, and Vanessa Privitera, Giovanni, Jason, and Ruby Colucciello.

Dear son-in-law of Clorinda (DeLuca) and John Civitarese, Q.F.D., Retired of Quincy.

Steve is also survived by many dear in-laws, friends, and loved ones.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, on Saturday, February 7, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

  • I was so sad to hear of Steve’s passing, he and I worked together in Boston for a couple of years. He was always such and kind and trusted colleague, who also made the effort and succeeded in making others smile. He will be sorely missed.
