Gerard H. DeCoste, age 89

Gerard H. “Gerry” DeCoste, age 89, of Braintree, died suddenly, Thursday, January 22, 2026 at home.

Gerry was the beloved husband to the late Margaret DeCoste. Dear father to the late Gerard H. DeCoste, Jr. and Michael of New Jersey. Loving grandfather of Gerard H. DeCoste III of Florida and Remi DeCoste of Plymouth. Brother to Elizabeth DeCoste of Chelmsford and the late William F. DeCoste and his late wife Mary. Gerry is also survived by many nephews and their families.

Gerry was born and raised in Quincy, where he received his education. He served in the Army National Guard and worked for the Polaroid Corporation until he retired.

Gerry found great joy spending time in Nova Scotia visiting family members. He enjoyed playing cards and games with his grandchildren, playing cribbage with his nephew, and spending time with family and friends.

In accordance with Gerry’s wishes, services are private.
