Gary M. Lewis, age 73

Gary M. Lewis, age 73, of North Easton, died peacefully, Saturday, June 20, 2026 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Gary was born in Cambridge, to the late Mary Lou (Hoar) and Walter B. Lewis. Raised in Brighton and Brockton, he was a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School, Class of 1971. He attended the former Coyne Electrical School in Boston. After graduation, he worked for several years as an electrician.

Gary changed careers to the dental lab industry where he worked for many years. He then went on to become a proud member of Teamsters Local 25 for thirty-one years, employed as a truck driver for the Stop & Shop Supermarket Company. He retired in 2017.

He lived in North Easton for thirty-one years, previously in Mansfield.

Gary had a passion for tennis and was a longtime member of the Lakeville Athletic Club where he enjoyed many friendships. He also enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, biking, kitesurfing, and electric skateboarding. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandson.

Beloved husband for thirty-nine years of Barbara A. (Russell) Lewis.

Devoted father of Heidi A. Piper and her husband Bradley of Attleboro, Holly R. Lewis and her partner Cory Snow of Clinton.

Loving Papa of Arthur H. Piper.

One of eight siblings, he was the brother of Walter Lewis, Jr., Paul Lewis, Mary Kathryn Iverson, Jams Mark Lewis, Allison Panasci, Christine Carron, and Jennifer Candeias.

Gary is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Thursday, June 25, from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, Braintree, on Friday, June 26, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
