Emily A. (MacKenzie) Stephen, age 90, of Quincy, formerly of Rockland and Weymouth, died peacefully, Friday, June 26, 2026 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.

Emily was born in Quincy, to the late Angus and Elsa (Leth) MacKenzie. Raised and educated in Quincy and Weymouth, she was a graduate of Weymouth High School, Class of 1953, and later graduated from the former Stenotype Institute in Boston. She lived in Weymouth for twenty-eight years, and in Rockland for nine years, before returning to Quincy in 1984.

She had been employed as a secretary in the banking industry for fourteen years with the Old Colony Trust Department at the former First National Bank. She later worked for Kelley Services for fourteen years.

Emily was a lifelong active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Quincy where she taught Sunday School for thirty-five years. She was a woman of faith and enjoyed reading a daily Bible meditation and biographies.

She enjoyed summers with family and friends at her cottage on Tucker Pond in Warner, New Hampshire for many years.

All in all, Emily lived her life to the fullest and was thankful to God for her daily blessings.

Beloved wife for fifty-five years of the late George P. Stephen.

The last of three siblings, she was predeceased by William MacKenzie and Jean MacKenzie.

Emily was the dear cousin of the late Philip Leth and is survived by his family of Quincy. She is also survived by her nieces, Mary Carver of Center Harbor, N.H., Catherine Hellige of Liberty, Ill., and great nieces, Aurora Hellige and Eva-Lyn Carver.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Thursday, July 2, at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Drew Hanson, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Interment Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
