Mary Ann (Byers) Myers, age 78, a longtime resident of Braintree, died peacefully, Wednesday, July 29, 2026 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous fight against cancer.

Mary was born in Clinton, Iowa, to the late Alice P. (Donahue) and Jerry W. Byers. Raised and educated there, she was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1966. She lived in Braintree for over fifty years.

Mary was employed with Partners Home Care for over forty years and had served in various roles, including as a home health aide and scheduler. “Money” enjoyed her work and the many friendships she made over the years.

Mary enjoyed gardening, playing solitaire, and shopping for her granddaughter. Most of all, she was devoted to her family and cherished time spent with them.

Beloved wife for fifty-seven years of Ronald W. Myers.

Devoted mother of Susann Myers-Sheehan and her former husband David of East Bridgewater.

Cherished grandmother of Sophie M. Sheehan.

Loving sister of Michael Byers of Wisconsin, Teresa Rettkowski and her husband Hank of Ohio, Patricia Wilkins of Merrimac and her late husband Roger, and the late Joseph Byers and his surviving wife Penny of Illinois.

Dear sister-in-law of Janice Graziano of Randolph and her late husband Richard, Laurie Cavanaugh and her husband Russell of South Carolina.

Mary is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Memorial Funeral Services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Saturday, August 8, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Memorial Visitation prior to the service from 10 – 11 a.m.
