Anne M. (Hallisey) Meade, age 84, of Weymouth, died peacefully, Saturday, October 3, 2026 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, surrounded by her loving family.
Anne was born in Quincy, to the late Margaret (Stanton) and George Hallisey. Raised and educated there, she was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1961. She lived in Weymouth for over thirty years, previously in Quincy.
She worked as an accounting specialist at State Street Bank for over twenty years.
She enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She was well known for her talents and easily drew the attention of youngsters, who flocked to her as she would teach quilting to them.
She was a proud pet parent of her golden doodle, Mushu, and her golden retriever, Bridie.
Most of all, she was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.
Beloved wife of the late John T. “Jack” Meade.
Devoted mother of John P. Meade and his wife Deborah of Weymouth.
Loving grandmother of Brianna McNamara and her husband Christopher of Reading, Patrick Meade of Abington, and Katelyn Meade of Weymouth.
One of seven siblings, she was the dear sister of Warren Hallisey of Brockton and was predeceased by Robert Hallisey, George Hallisey, Paul Hallisey, David Hallisey, and Fred Hallisey.
Cherished aunt of Carol Smith, Lisa Bohmbach, Deborah Willow, and Anne Margaret Hallisey. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families, as well as her dear friend, Carmel McBride.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Thursday, October 8, from 5 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, October 9, at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
