Myrla L. (Chesley) Connolly, age 79, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Milford Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Myrla was born in Skowhegan, Maine, to the late Edith (Kelley) and Merle Chesley. Raised and educated in Maine, she was a graduate of Somerset Academy in Athens, Maine, Class of 1965. She lived in Milford for the past year, previously in Quincy for most of her adult life, as well as a period of time in Solon, Maine.

Myrla spent most of her career working as a medical secretary in various offices.

She was artistic and especially enjoyed needle arts. She was a talented knitter, sewist, and quilter. She belonged to a quilting club and treasured her many friendships there. Myrla was also a wonderful cook and baker and was known for her culinary skills.

Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Beloved wife of the late Mark E. Connolly.

Devoted mother of Jeffrey J. Barker and his wife Tricia of Wells, Maine, Katherine C. Baden and her husband Lance of Upton, and Sean K. Connolly and his fiancé Laura Clay of New Bedford.

Loving grandmother of Cameron, Blake, Ellie, Will, Caleb, and Hannah.

Dear sister of Sheila Dennis and her husband Robert of California, and the late Gordon Chesley and his late wife Lou.

Myrla is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Thursday, November 5, from 5 – 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, November 6, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
