Adele Edith “Edie” Giurastante, age 93, a longtime resident of Quincy, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.
Edie was born in Boston on July 24, 1932 to the late Domenic A. and Adele (Masciovecchio) Giurastante. She grew up in Dorchester, and was a graduate of Dorchester High School, Class of 1949 and she later received a degree from the former Copley Secretarial Institute in Boston.
She had a long-time career as an executive secretary and administrative assistant. Later she worked for the South Shore YMCA in Quincy, where she assisted in fundraising and was proud to be one of the top fundraisers for the Y’s children’s programs.
Sister of Janet L. Richenburg of Walpole, the late Felice A. Asnault, and the late Domenic V. Giurastante.
Loving “Auntie Edie” to Tara Kenney of Weymouth, Tiffany Madden of Foxborough, Joseph “Scott” Swift of Hull, Kate Murphy of Cohasset, Adele Morris of Sarasota, Fla., and Tom Asnault of Cohasset.
Edie is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
At the request of Edie’s family, funeral services are private.
