Daniel M. Dougan, age 55

Daniel M. Dougan, age 55, of Abington, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, surrounded by the people he loved the most.

Dan was born on November 9, 1969 to John and Nancy (Buckley) Dougan and grew up in Braintree, attending Braintree High School where he met the love of his life, Jill. Dan and Jill were married on July 24, 1993 and soon welcomed their two beautiful daughters, Molly and Jessica. The family moved to Abington in 2000 where they created their lifetime memories. They enjoyed traveling together, especially to Disney World and on many Caribbean cruises. Above everything, Dan loved taking care of his three girls, and later his precious baby granddaughter, Claire. His life revolved around his family.

Dan was also a proud member of Pipefitters Union Local 537 for over thirty years as an HVAC mechanic, most recently working for Cox Engineering. He loved his union buddies and was always good for a joke or a good laugh.

Dan enjoyed golfing, traveling, cruising, beach days in Marshfield, spending time with family and friends, and driving his 1971 Chevelle SS and 2021 Dodge Challenger.

Beloved husband to Jill C. (Conway) Dougan for thirty-two years.

Devoted father to Molly Fisher and her husband John of Whitman, and Jessica Dougan of Abington.

Loving grandfather to Claire Fisher.

Loving son of Nancy M. (Buckley) Dougan of Braintree and the late John T. Dougan.

Dear brother of John Dougan, Captain, Q.P.D., Retired and his wife Mary Ellen of Abington, Marjorie Bransfield and her husband Steven of Weymouth, Mary Flagg and her husband Paul of Plymouth, and Jane O’Mahony of Braintree.

Dan is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and their families, all of whom he loved very much.

Dan was the best husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and Pop-Pop. We will miss him terribly every day.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, on Saturday, August 2, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Celebration of Dan’s Life will immediately follow at Alba Restaurant, 1486 Hancock Street, Quincy Center.
