Edward J. “Eddie” Driscoll, age 94, of Quincy, died peacefully, Thursday, September 25, 2025 at the John Scott House in Braintree.
Eddie was born in Quincy, to the late Herbert R. and Charlotte M. (Casna) Driscoll. He was a lifelong resident of Quincy and attended Quincy High School.
He was the owner of Driscoll Auto Body on Liberty Street in Quincy for more than four decades. He was well known for his careful craftsmanship, attention to detail, and generosity. The shop became the original “man cave” for coffee and conversation for family and customers who quickly became friends. A place where his brothers and nephews gathered to do auto repairs and build stock cars for racing.
Eddie had a lifelong passion for bowling and golf, and also loved following every Boston sports team. He participated in the Alfredo’s bowling league at Olindy’s in Quincy, winning his first league tournament at the tender age of nineteen. He eventually took over sponsorship of the league under the name Driscoll Auto Body. Even after he could no longer participate, he continued to enjoy bowling and socializing with family and lifelong friends each week.
Devoted father of Darlene Brinkmann and her husband Frank of Pembroke, Edward Driscoll and his wife Kimberly of Braintree.
Loving grandfather of Derek Brinkmann and his wife Michaela, and Cara Brinkmann, all of Pembroke, Holly Anne Driscoll and her fiancé Alan Irwin, Ryan Driscoll and his partner Brianna Burke, all of Weymouth, and twins Mikayla Driscoll and Tyler Driscoll, both of Braintree.
Cherished great grandfather of Brady Irwin.
The youngest of three siblings, he was predeceased by H. Robert Driscoll and Warren C. Driscoll. Eddie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.
He was the former husband of the late Joan M. (Daley) Driscoll.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Thursday, October 2, from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Graveside Services will be conducted at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy, on Friday, October 3, at 11 a.m. Those attending are welcome to gather at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. for procession to the cemetery.
