Fira Khodartseva, age 99

Fira (Berimskaya) Khodartseva, age 99, of Braintree, formerly of Boston, died peacefully, Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Royal Health Braintree, in the comfort of her loving family.

Fira was born in Kiev, Ukraine, to the late Basya and Daniil Berimskiy. She immigrated to the United States in 1992, lived briefly in New York City, in Boston for twenty-eight years, and in Braintree for four years.

She was employed as a secretary in a military hospital in Lviv, Ukraine for many years.

Fira loved to read and was always interested in politics. She enjoyed cooking, was devoted to her family and was well-known as a kind person and a loving “Jewish Mama”.

Beloved wife of the late WWII hero Mikhail Khodartsev.

Devoted mother of the late Diana M. Levina and her surviving husband Gennadiy Levin of Holbrook.

Loving grandmother of Michael Shatskiy and Daniel Levin of Holbrook.

Cherished great grandmother of twins, Leonardo and Vincenzo.

Fira was the youngest and last of five siblings and is survived by two nephews in Israel.

A Prayer Service will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Monday, March 4, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation prior to the prayer service from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Interment Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph.
