Jacqueline A. Martell, age 86

Jacqueline A. “Jackie” Martell, age 86, a lifelong resident of Quincy, died peacefully, Monday, February 2, 2026 at CareOne at Weymouth, surrounded by her loving family.

Jacqueline was born in Everett, to the late John “Jack” and C. Edna (Hughes) Martell, and was raised and educated in Quincy.

She worked as a home health aide for many years, previously as an assembler for the Raytheon Company in Quincy. She had been retired for many years.

Jackie was proud to be sober for forty years. A member of the abstinence-based recovery community, she enjoyed many friendships at Fort Square in Quincy.

A woman of faith, she was a former parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Houghs Neck.

In her later years, she was a member of the Snug Harbor Adult Day Care Center.

Jackie was an animal lover and had a special connection with her dogs and cats over the years.

Devoted mother of Kellie M. MacDonald and her husband Alexander of Pembroke.

Loving grandmother of Patrick R. MacDonald, KellieAnn Cerullo, both of Pembroke, and Kristen M. Driscoll and her husband David of Kingston.

Cherished great grandmother of Alex D. Cerullo, Jackson L. Cerullo, and Acelyn Rose Driscoll.

Former longtime companion of the late Thomas E. Hutton.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Thursday, February 5, from 4 – 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, February 6, at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

    Will miss your spirit -you are a “ one off”. You were so special to so many members of Fort Square. We had a lot of laughs during the times I’d give you a lift to a meeting. I knew you appreciated it. 40 years helping others certainly made God proud ! See you some day – hopefully not soon!

  • All Jackie’s friends in recovery will remember Jackie with love and respect for her joyful sharing of “WHAT AN ORDER. I CAN’T GO THROUGH WITH IT!” as she sat in the front row and encouraged new and old with her enthusiasm. What an inspiration.
