Leo J. Buckley, Jr., age 83

Leo J. Buckley, Jr., age 83, of Quincy, formerly of Holbrook, died peacefully, Sunday, October 19, 2025 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Leo was born in Dorchester, to the late Leo J. and Theresa (Matricia) Buckley. Raised and educated in East Boston, he was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1960.

He lived in Quincy for fifteen years, previously in Holbrook for over forty-five years. Leo was also a thirty-year summer resident of Dennisport and enjoyed spending thirteen winter seasons in Bradenton, Florida.

Leo was employed as a stationary engineer in the pharmaceutical and food processing industries for many years, retiring in 2007.

He enjoyed traveling with his late wife, Patricia, family, and friends. Leo was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5046 in Holbrook and the Moose Lodge 1223 in Bradenton, Florida.

Most of all, Leo was devoted to his family, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.

Beloved husband for sixty years of the late Patricia A. (Curry) Buckley.

Devoted father of Cheryl A. Stull of North Carolina, Kathleen A. Glass of Quincy, Brian J. Buckley of Taunton, and Michael J. Buckley of Braintree and his companion Lindsay Ward of Middleboro.

Loving grandfather of Ronald J. Stull, Jr. and his wife Kayla, Kristen Cain, Jason Cain, and Michael Glass.

Cherished great grandfather of Lily and Lia Stull.

The last of three siblings, Leo was predeceased by Dorothy McCarthy and John A. Buckley and was the dear uncle of John and Mark Buckley.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Thursday, October 23, from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Joseph’s Church, 550 Washington Street, Quincy on Friday, October 24, at 10 a.m. At the request of the family, Leo’s interment will take place privately.
