Marilyn J. Marshall, age 94

Marilyn J. “Molly” (Nee) Marshall, age 94, a lifelong resident of Quincy, passed away, peacefully, Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham, in the comfort of her loving family.

Marilyn was born in Boston, to the late Martin G. and Marguerite M. (Burns) Nee. She was raised and educated in Quincy and was a graduate of North Quincy High School, Class of 1949.

As a young woman, Molly worked as an accountant for the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company in the Boston office.

After marrying the love of her life, the late Walter J. Marshall, she was a proud and dedicated homemaker for her cherished children and grandchildren. She loved family gatherings and supporting all her family’s many activities.

Molly was an accomplished knitter and enjoyed crafts and reading. For many years, she and her family relished time spent at their summer home in Marion.

Beloved wife for sixty-seven years of the late Walter J. Marshall.

Devoted mother of Karen M. Griffin and her husband Peter of Pembroke, Walter J. Marshall, Jr. of Quincy, Nancy A. Tessier and her husband David of Needham, and Deborah J. Crosby and her husband Michael of Kingston.

Loving grandmother of ten and great grandmother of ten.

The last of five siblings, Marilyn was predeceased by Martin Nee, Jr., Lorraine Dzengeleski, Joan Jacobs, and Marguerite Kelly. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Friday, March 27, from 4 – 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 227 Sea Street, Quincy, on Saturday, March 28, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
