of Braintree
Michael P. Carloni, age 42, of Braintree, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Weymouth, Michael was raised and educated in Braintree, graduating from Braintree High School with the Class of 2000. Known to his friends as “Cutzy” he was a gifted athlete and a passionate Boston sports fan with a deep love for hockey, baseball, and golf. Introduced to golf at an early age by his grandfather, George O’Rourke — an accomplished golfer himself — Mike became an avid golfer, spending much of his free time perfecting his swing at the Braintree Municipal Golf course.
After high school Michael proudly served in the Army National Guard of Massachusetts where he earned recognition as a skilled rifle and grenade marksman. With his natural talent and skillful hands, he later became a self-taught carpenter and established his own business.
Michael was the beloved son of Peter J. and Karen L. (O’Rourke) Carloni of Braintree. He was the loving brother of Alicia B. Kemp and her husband Brian of Weymouth, Danielle L. Purpura and her husband Anthony of Scituate, and Jenna M. Robichau and her husband James of Braintree. He was also a devoted uncle to seven nieces and nephews.
He was the cherished grandson of the late George and Geraldine O’Rourke and Achille and Elizabeth Carloni. Michael is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
At the family’s request, funeral services were held privately.
