Rev. Thomas A. DiLorenzo, age 79

of Quincy

Rev. Thomas A. DiLorenzo, age 79

“Well done, good and faithful servant; … enter into the joy of your master.” — Matthew 25:23

Reverend Thomas A. DiLorenzo, age 79, Senior Priest in Residence at St. John the Baptist and St. Joseph Parishes in Quincy, fell asleep in the Lord on February 23, 2026. May his soul rest in the peace of Jesus Christ whom he so faithfully loved and served and may he rejoice in Glory forever.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…” — Jeremiah 1:5

Fr. Tom DiLorenzo was born on September 29, 1946, in East Boston, Massachusetts, the beloved son of the late Rose (DiLorenzo) and Vincent DiLorenzo, and devoted brother of the late Anthony V. DiLorenzo. He was a loving cousin to Mary E. Campanella and her husband Joseph of Everett, and Paul T. Follo and his wife Lori of Everett, and is also survived by many much-loved cousins, extended family members, and a wide circle of friends who knew his generous heart. Soon after graduating from Salem State College Fr. Tom responded with generosity to the Lord and entered St. John’s Seminary. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Boston on September 15, 1979 by Cardinal Humberto Medeiros. He served faithfully in parishes across the Archdiocese, most notably in Quincy, Peabody, and Winthrop. Under his administration, Holy Rosary Parish in Winthrop became a home for the sick, suffering, lost, broken, outcast, zealous, and faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. Most recently Fr. Tom ministered with love and mercy as a Senior Priest in Residence at St. John the Baptist and St. Joseph Parish in Quincy.

“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you.” — Matthew 17:20

From his earliest years, Fr. Tom met Jesus and experienced the power of His Holy Spirit living in the world, in him, and in all Christians. He often recalled a moment as a young boy when he read in Scripture of the power of the name of Jesus. On vacation at a lake with his family he made his way to the shore. The wind was strong – a storm of sorts was brewing. With the confidence of a child of God he proclaimed, “In the name of Jesus I command the wind to stop.” And it did. There is no secret or extraordinary gift in the life of Fr. Tom. Everyone is capable of the same. In Faith, he believed what Jesus said to be true, and he did what Jesus asked. We can do the same.

“For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ—and Him crucified.” — 1 Corinthians 2:2

Fr. Tom embraced his priestly vocation with a singular focus on Jesus and the Cross. The Cross is the answer. Everyone, Fr. Tom included, endures suffering. Where else can we go but the Cross. From the Cross, and through His pierced side, flows the Sacraments and all grace, healing, redemption, reconciliation, mercy, hope, and eternal life. Fr. Tom was always carrying the Cross with and for people. A man and priest deeply in love with Jesus Christ, he brought everyone into the wonder and salvation of the Pascal Mystery. He knew and proclaimed that while in your life it may feel like Good Friday, know that Sunday is coming!

“I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, and exhort, be unfailing in patience and in teaching.”— 2 Timothy 4:1-2

Fr. Tom embraced the prophetic responsibility that comes with being a disciple and priest of Jesus Christ. In 1984 he founded the radio ministry In Season and Out of Season, broadcasting across multiple stations nationwide and on cable outlets throughout New England, most especially WROL 950AM and WEZE 590AM. His preaching flowed from his love of Scripture and was enlivened by the Holy Spirit, inviting listeners to deeper conversion, prayer, and steadfast love for Jesus. His proclamation of the saving Truth, and healing mercy, of Jesus Christ extended beyond the parish pulpit; radio microphone; and the hundreds of retreats, revivals, and worship nights he led. Throughout his life Fr. Tom would be preaching and praying for healing on the beaches of Quincy, in the aisles of Market Basket, waiting for the next teller at the bank, in elevators, planes, restaurants, and even during karaoke. Fr. Tom longed for everyone to know Jesus Christ, and that they would experience personally his love, mercy, healing, and salvation.

“For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 8:38-39

No one is excluded from the merciful love of God. No one was excluded from the prayer, love, attention, and life of Fr. Tom. As he always said, “Jesus will never reject you!” He championed the dignity of each person as a beloved child of God, particularly reaching out to the suffering, the outcast, and those forgotten by the world. From the kitchen of Holy Rosary, he and so many volunteers would prepare baked chicken legs, make sandwiches, and gather clothes and socks to bring the poor in greater Boston. Fr. Tom would feed bellies and then souls with the Word of God and the healing touch of Jesus. Extending far beyond even Boston, anyone who was sick, suffering, or alone knew they could make their way to Holy Rosary Parish – to Fr. Tom DiLorenzo – and he would welcome them, feed them (especially with his healing meatballs), pray with them, and beg the Lord with them for healing and peace. Time, money, convenience, comfort meant nothing to Fr. Tom as he received and loved, as a priest of Jesus Christ, everyone who came to him. His healing ministry — grounded in prayer, compassion, and an unwavering belief in Christ’s transformative love — brought hope and comfort to all. He never tired of witnessing to the power of Jesus, His Cross, and His Church to bring healing and mercy into the world and into peoples’ lives. His gifts, his faith, and his love of Jesus he desired always to give away. He spoke to everyone who would listen: you too can do the same. He took to heart those final words of the Blessed Mother: “Do whatever he tells you.” He urged all, listen to the words of Jesus and follow them. See what God does with you.

  • Father Tom, since our time together in Boston back in 2009, working on the Father Power story, you’ve been a spiritual guide for me. What you shared in that interview almost two decades ago really sparked my journey back to my Catholic faith. Being with you in Quincy last November as we filmed your life story was a profound honor, and I’ve felt the love of Jesus through you. I’ve been attending Father Tom University (FTU) lately, watching all your television broadcasts. You’re the best Bible teacher I know. I’m so heartbroken by your passing. I love you, Father Tom, and I’m looking forward to seeing you next week. Gratefully, Larry Cappetto.

  • Fr. Tom, I will never forget you. It was a blessing knowing you, and attending your masses at Holy Rosary. You were always there for me and my family. May Jesus welcome you and hold you in his arms. You will be truly missed. There will never be another priest like you. Rest in Peace.
….to whom shall we go? John 6:68.

  • *I just found out Father Tom Delarenzo died 3 days after my birthday, February 23, last Monday. He’s been dead almost a week. I truly truly L🤍ved his broadcasts. He took such great joy in just quoting Scripture & keeping the gospel message simple. I will truly miss him. l complimented how he preached & kept the message very simple & he read my comment on air.
He writes: “I am heartened by your letters: ” Father Tom, the gospel you preach is like water to a dry sponge. I absolutely love the simplicity of your message. It couldn’t be any simpler. No fancy language, no pontification, no dry, dull bullet points, just God’s Word in all its beautiful simplicity, that is what l love & appreciate. Thank you for the beautiful message of salvation, encouragement, healing & faith.”
Last Summer (2025) he would preach “Bullet Style” with another young priest who also emphasized The Scriptures above all else & he told his audience “I’m not just going to pass this ministry down to just anybody” He must have sensed it was time to get his house in order.
It was a great & sweet blessing to my soul 🌟 hear him teach. I’m glad he’s with the Lord but yes l will miss him very much. He was great because he always put Jesus the Scriptures first.✨🌟⭐Love you Father Tom. You shined in this world because you always put Jesus First. Now I know you”re shining up in Heaven with Jesus, the One you loved the most with all your heart & soul. Shine on forever, Father Tom, shine on forever. ✨🌟⭐& Give my deepest love to my husband Chris . I think he’ll be thrilled to meet you❗

  • Fr Tom will be missed but never forgotten. So many things he taught me , songs, how to praise worship Jesus , The Word of the Gospel, personal testimonies . How to step out our comfort zone , always praising Jesus . Loved listening to his radio station . Fr Tom was right about everything he spoke about . When I spoke about Jesus Ito others it is caught and others want to be like this . The joy Fr Tom brought to my heart and understanding the Love of Jesus . Fr Tom was so loved and I thank you and Jesus for helping me in so many ways . Will see you again one day .

  • Fr. Tom was a wonderful priest and mentor, and I will never forget him. He was an extraordinary Shepard to his flock and Father to his adopted children. Rest in peace, Father.

  • It’s not every day you get to meet somebody like Fr. Tom. But when you do, you thank God that there’s people in the world like him. That did gods work day in and Day Out and really loved and respected humankind. We all lost a special press in our lives today. Got in fairness to him, God called and he went home to be with the Lord and that’s what we all pray for.\n When we die. If IIlearned anything from Fr. Tom, it was be kind and generous with your faith. Be kind to your fellow man and you reward will be great in heaven. Love you

  • May the angels greet Fr. Tom as he enters paradise to meet our Heavenly Father and precious Mother Mary face to face. I was recently given holy water blessed by Fr. Tom. So grateful for having received it. I will forever cherish the blessed water from this faithful servent of GOD.
Rest in eternal peace Fr. Tom. You made this earth a better place.
    ❤️

As the lord welcomes you with open arms…god bless you father TOM

May God let his face shine upon you.

  • Father Tom
Thank you for your blessings and prayers.
Please personally say “Hi” to Jesus for me!
    Love you Father Tom !

  • Thank you, Father DiLorenzo, for helping me many years ago. I know that you are now resting in the Lord’s perfect love and peace.

  • I remember those days in Quincy before I moved to Maryland, when I helped Fr. Tom prepare for daily Mass at St. John’s. He would gently tap my shoulders and call my name, “Chi,” letting me know he needed help putting on his alb and stole before Mass.
After Mass, I would return to the sacristy to help him remove them. He would always say, “Thank you, Chi. God bless you.” Those simple words meant so much to me.
Fr. Tom was an amazing priest who loved to sing. Even after I moved to Maryland, I never missed Glory Nights—I would always join virtually. Those evenings brought me so much joy and deepened my connection to Jesus.
I will pray for his canonization, if it pleases God, because he was truly a faithful and devoted servant who loved Jesus wholeheartedly.
Fr. Tom will be sorely missed, but I trust he is now resting in the bosom of our Lord. May his gentle and sweet soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.

  • I loved Father Tom. The first time I encountered father was at pro-life walk in Boston near the Public Garden with his booming voice singing through a megaphone. My wife and I were privileged to see him preach and worship several more times and listened to Father on radio while we lived in Arlington.
I’m sure he is now with the saints praising God now and for eternity! As he used to say “…and you can take that to the bank Tallulah!”. May God rest his soul.

  • At the foot of the altar I asked you, “how did you know it was me?” You responded smiling, “Jesus told me.”

Your preaching, teaching and unwavering love for our Lord brought our paths together. Thanks be to God for you Father Tom. Your YES made a difference to so many lives! I will for all eternity be grateful for your love, for your spiritual direction, for your zeal for Jesus, for your YES, and for being a PRIEST in season and out of season!

Proclaim it LOUD Father, like only the Rev. Thomas A. DiLorenzo can! “Victory today is mine… Hit It!!”

    Until we meet again..

Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto,
Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in sæcula sæculorum. Amen.

  • J.M.J Fr. Tom a true man of God , In season in out of season. Many great memories of vacation on Nantucket in the 80’s and benefiting from his Spiritual Direction for the past 45 years.. My condolences to his surviving cousins. May he rest in the arms of the God he loved so very much and served so very well

  • You embodied the love of Christ on earth. Even those you touched briefly were blessed by your compassion, devotion, and unwavering commitment to Jesus. I will miss you, but I know the Lord has you now in His loving arms!

  • I met Father Tom when he was at Sacred Heart in North Quincy. Father Tom was a great priest and a super preacher. Before he got his radio ministry I told him they should give him a show because donations would pour in. Other memories I have of him…. Stations of the Croz along Wollaston Beach and his Roller Skating throughout the parish. We moved west to Palmer and when I met one of our parish priests he asked me where we had come from and what parish. When I told him he said that was one of his classmates parish, Father Tom DiLorenzo . It was a good connection.

Father Tom, I’d say RIP, but I can’t picture you “resting “so “keep on preaching the words of Jesus” God bless

  • I spent a lot of time in my car and that’s where I found Fr Tom. I owe a lot to him for my faith in Jesus. His relentless preaching. Brought me closer to Jesus and his Mother Mary. Rest and peace Father. My prayers are with you

  • I met Father Tom in the early 1990’s and in the last 2years he prayed over me 4 times. He also prayed for my older brother and one of my best friends. Thank you Father Tom I’m grateful for everything you did. You are at peace with God now. Miss you and love you Sir, Zach.

  • Praise the Lord and Glory to God for you Father Tom! I have been listening to you in West Springfield, Massachusetts for all the years you were on the local radio station. I was so greatly inspired by your awe inspiring teaching about the precious Blood of Jesus that I ma a sincere effort never to ever miss any of your amazing and blessed programs! I dearly appreciate, love you as so many other faith living friends do and Father Tom will be so missed but all your loving family and friends will keep sharing the love of Jesus as you taught us! Love, Hugs and Smiles!

  • I met Fr Tom at the Boston Marian Conference November 2025. So many people in line to be prayed over by him that I was grouped with several others as Father needed to leave and it was his last prayers. He extended his arms over us and prayed out loud for healing in the name of Jesus. The specific healing I asked for was unspoken and kept in my heart. I left the conference and time passed. I sensed a healing and as time continued on, I made the connection that perhaps it was that holy priest’s prayers that healed the situation. The timing was the same. I have been almost reluctant to say it was a healing. But tonight as I am baking in my kitchen, that priest came to my mind again and I decided to look him up. I found him and was both sorrowful to hear of his passing AND equally amazed that at this exact moment there is an evening of praise in his honor. I had no idea he had passed and I cannot thank Jesus enough for this healing and for the confirmation that I believe was our dear Father Tom’s prayers. Thank you Father for your witness, faithfulness, your openness to the Holy Spirit and for already interceding from the heavenly Banquet. Praised be Jesus Christ.

  • Loved Father Tom
Well done good and Faithful Servant.
    See you again in Glory

  • Father Tom,
May your soul forever rest in the arms of Jesus, Mary and Joseph in eternal peace, in the company of all the angels and saints. Fiat. Amen.

  • Thank you and I love you Father Tom a million times over; I have known Father since I was 22 years old; he was a true friend to my mother and father and my whole family: we have received many healing and miracles through his intercession. Father said, don’t leave the catholic church because the fulness of the faith is in the catholic church; don’t take the fire out if the fireplace and frequent the blessed sacrament for 1 hour because it’s like sitting in front of a nuclear power plant only its Jesus; and if someone asks you to pray don’t wait, do it right at the tome and don’t just pray for people to come back to church pray for them to come back to Jesus, so many people have been healed from Father Tom’s prayers; I think he is a true saint and will be forever grateful to him and to Jesys for the privilege of knowing him. May Father Tom enjoy the beauty of heaven, Amen

  • Gratitude and eternal +LOVE+ to you Father Tom for lighting up Heaven with your kindness, authenticity and for guiding the path for your friends in Christ Jesus. Your priestly life remains a light unto the world.

  • Fr D. Although I haven’t seen you in years , I miss you terribly . I was at Sacred Heart in N. QUINCY where you recieved your very 1st assignment . Remember Tuesday night prayer group on Tuesday evenings ! Sunday night young people’s bible study ! And I had the pleasure to serve with you on the altar as a lector . Great memories there with wonderful friends !
    Enjoy heaven my friend !

  • I went to see Father Tom in Quincy about five years ago. My heart was heavy with grief and regret. In a soft voice, Fr. Tom said that he could not absolve me of my sin because “God had already done that”. He spoke of God’s love for me, prayed over me, and, when I thanked him for seeing me, he said softly, “It was my privilege”. . . . I went to my car, and sat resting in the Spirit. When I looked up at the cloudy sky, the clouds parted . . . the sun broke through.

Thank you, Fr. Tom. You were a Blessing to everyone everywhere, your whole Spirit-filled life. And you still are.

May your memory be a blessing.

  • father Tom, you’ve taught me so much, in being a friend with you for so many
years. i was so sad to hear of your passing. i can remember our wonderful prayers
over the phone. what I remember of you most is when you told your stories with honesty. I willalways love you Fr. Tom. You were the best.

  • I met Father years ago in Winthrop and in first meeting him, you could feel the Holy Spirit coming through.. He is a blessed gift sent by Our Father in Heaven, Our Lord Jesus Christ to so many of God’s children.

Thank you Jesus for your love and mercy for us all and the gift of your son Thomas. Amen.

  • My family regrets that we didn’t see you Father Tom to update you about us. He was one of God’s living Angels sent to us. He blessed and baptized our twins babies and very successful today with a full scholarship at Harvard. Just after we immigrated in US from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He shared his breakfast with us all the time when we went to morning church and donated food and clothes to our family when we needed them. Also, He donated us a car to us when we needed one.. May God receive you in his kingdom!

  • RIP father Tom, you finished your course 😞

  • Truly one of the greatest and most humble men I have had the honor of knowing. He put Jesus first in all ways and brought the love of Jesus to all he encountered. You will be missed but I will see you again one day.

  • Forever in my thoughts and prayers Fr. Tom you will be so deeply missed but I know in my heart you will always be watching over all of us from heaven above RIP Fr Tom ✝️🙏❤️🌹Godspeed

  • My husband and I went to Italy with him many years ago. A priest deeply in love with Jesus.
Daily masses in Italy and in the catacombs. When we returned home, he invited the people
who had been on the pilgrimage back to his home few weeks later where he said mass and then
made his famous meatballs and sausages and knowing I was a vegetarian he had fish just for me.
I loved that man as soon as I heard his first radio broadcast. Simple and gentle and kind and
filled with the Spirit. He preached only Jesus – Jesus – Jesus. I know he is in the arms of Jesus
now and smiling with his new body and interceding for all of us.

  • Fr. Tom, may you rest in the arms of Jesus now. You were the faithful servant of Jesus to all. When I took over for Sister Miriam at The Kingdom of God Prayer Community to help her get priest to come and say Mass on thursday nights, you never said no I can’t come. It made me a better christian to have the privilige to call you and ask you to come. Though your schedule was full, you always made the time to come. I got to know a lot of priest, Fr Tom, you are at the top of the list, Jesus now has you in his arms and you now have seen his face. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me along my walk with Jesus. Your brother in Christ, Al

  • Father Tom 💗 I Will Remember You forever. 💗 Back in the days you did healing services on Wednesday night at the espousal center in Waltham. I’ve probably been to at least 40 healing masses that you so beautifully said. Your healing ministry was from God and the holy Spirit. So many people were healed by Jesus through you. You will be greatly missed. You were loved and may you be in the arms of the Blessed Mother Mary and Jesus we love you 💗💗💗

  • Fr Tom words can not describe what you have meant to me since I was introduced to you by my dearest friend Anthony Correnti. I know you are up there looking over us and praying for us. You always told me and preached on the radio ” First to the Jews then to the gentiles.” Well you really meant that and got me to church from 3500 miles away solely through the lord and your radio station I in which I loved listening every chance I could with yourself as well as Anthony.

It had taken me some time to write this because I have been at such a loss but I know Jesus has a plan for us and for you. As you had stated which has resonated these past years was ” There is no such thing as a coincidence just an incidence.” You solely have changed my life Father and my best friend Anthony’s and in turn the lives of so many others with the words you spoke not just in the church but on the national radio waves.

You have always been there for me in time of need and I will miss that so I ask the lord from above to always be there with yourself and him by his side with me!

I am so grateful to have met you in this life!

With so much love from my entire family out west and myself father.

    Jacob
    Amen

  • Father Tom – Haven’t stopped crying since Feb 23rd . No body has worked harder to bring people to Jesus and Jesus to people. You left an amazing mark on all! Your faith in Jesus Christ had raised people out of comas, removed cancers, restored sight, knitted bones together, transformed hearts, removed addictions, removed depressions, cast out demons, saved babies, and much more! May you continue to stretch that beautiful hand out and pray over all of us, who need it most.

  • Authentic priest. Holy and Christ like.

  • Father Tom you were such an inspiration to me. I met Father Tom when I went to Holy Rosary parish when I was young age 21 . We would worship Jesus six hours straight on a Sunday night sometimes till midnight at Holy Rosary Church. Father Tom had the anointing by preaching the word of Jesus to everyone no matter who you were. I remember pulling up to go to mass and I could hear Father Tom singing before I even went in. He had such a beautiful singing voice especially making up his personal Jesus songs. Father Tom by praying and speaking in tongues Jesus would heal my husband’s hip he was never supposed to walk normal again after breaking it. My husband could do everything after he prayed. The Doctor said he would be ok after going back. Father Tom believed Jesus could always do miracles no matter what. His faith in Jesus was so strong Jesus used him powerfully as a priest. He always listened no matter who you were . God Bless you Father Tom . You evangelised, helped the poor, your generosity to everyone I know your in heaven smiling with God. We will miss you. Thank you for doing Jesus work on this earth. What an example of holiness and doing gods work on this earth. You are a saint.

  • I was first introduced to your radio program by a dear friend who had been listening for years. I was fortunate to meet you at St John’s Church in Quincy, such a powerful and comforting presence. Your ministry has served so many and I am grateful to have shared with you moments of peaceful prayer.
    Rest in peace faithful servant.

  • Rest in eternal peace Fr Tom. You were a prayer warrior.

  • I listened to Fr. Tom for many years on the radio and was inspired by his preaching. I also met him several times. He was a beautiful soul, a wonderful priest, and our loss is Heaven’s gain. May you rest in eternal peace Fr. Tom, you touched many souls, including mine, and will be greatly missed.
