Rita C. Connolly, age 94

Rita C. (Muldoon) Connolly, age 94, of Quincy, died peacefully, Tuesday, August 19, 2025 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Rita was born in Sidney, Nova Scotia, Canada, to the late Henry F. and Mary C. (Deveraux) Muldoon. She was raised and educated in Sidney and immigrated to the United States in 1955. She lived in Quincy for over fifty-five years, previously in Dorchester for ten years.

She had been employed as an x-ray technician at the former Quincy City Hospital for twenty-three years and later worked in the bakery at the former Roche Bros. in Quincy for eleven years.

Rita was a longtime active parishioner of Saint John the Baptist Church in Quincy and had served as a bereavement minister of faith. She loved to read and enjoyed traveling.

Most of all, Rita was dedicated to her family, especially her grandchildren. She proudly supported all their many activities and accomplishments.

Beloved wife for fifty-six years of the late Joseph F. Connolly, Lieutenant, Boston Fire Dept., Retired.

Devoted mother of Barbara M. Dinan and her husband Don of Braintree, Patricia E. Sanders and her husband Michael of Braintree, Carmel M. Connolly of Weymouth, Kathleen B. Podolski of Dedham, and Ann W. Connolly of Quincy.

Loving grandmother of Stephen and Christopher Dinan, Jake and Megan Podolski and Katie Sanders.

One of eleven siblings, she was the sister of Patricia “Patsy” Williams of Alberta, Canada. Rita is also survived by her niece, Maura Allison of Quincy, and many other nieces, nephews, and their families.

Rita’s funeral services were private.
