Robert J. “Bob” Mitchell, age 85, of Braintree, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Friday, November 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born in Quincy, to the late James M. and Rose M. (Dan) Mitchell. Raised there, he was a graduate of Quincy High School. He lived in Braintree for over fifty-five years, previously in Quincy.

Bob was the well-known owner and operator of RJM Trucking of Quincy for many years.

He was a longtime member of the Quincy Lodge of Elks.

Bob enjoyed gardening and cooking. Most of all, he was devoted to his family.

Beloved husband for sixty-six years of the late Sandra L. “Sandy” (Mina) Mitchell.

Devoted father of Cindy O’Leary and her husband Robert, Gayle Fasano and her husband Ralph, and Robert J. Mitchell, Jr.

Loving grandfather of Robert O’Leary, Sandra O’Leary and her husband Tony Baptista, Shawn O’Leary, Stacey O’Leary, Ralph Fasano, Jr., Maria Fasano, Robert J. Mitchell III, Richard, and Danielle.

Cherished great grandfather of Hannah, Jezzlynn, and Luna.

At the request of the family, funeral services were private.
