Scott D. MacKenzie, age 68

Scott D. MacKenzie, age 68, of Pembroke, died peacefully, Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Plymouth, surrounded by his loving family.

Scott was born in Quincy, to the late Joan E. (Thomas) and George S. MacKenzie. Raised and educated there, he was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1975. Scott lived in Pembroke for thirty-four years, previously in Quincy.

He worked as the Vice President of Operations at DTM Packaging in Hingham for over thirty years. He was the co-founder and co-owner of the company.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed following sports, especially football and baseball. Scott also enjoyed being around people, especially his family and friends.

Beloved husband for forty years of Diane M. (Maher) MacKenzie.

Devoted father of Michael S. MacKenzie and his wife Sherry, David S. MacKenzie and his wife Shaunna, Erin T. MacKenzie, and Steven J. MacKenzie.

Loving grandfather of Oliver MacKenzie and Remy MacKenzie.

Dear brother of John MacKenzie and his wife Patricia, and the late Robert MacKenzie.

Scott is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Funeral Services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Memorial Visitation prior to the service from 10 – 11 a.m.

  • They don’t come any better than Scotty. Although l didn’t see much of Scotty in the last 10 years, I consider him one of my best friends. He was a joy to be around, never a dull moment.
    My sympathies go out to Diane and Family and also to Red.
