Anna E. Tangherlini, age 86

Anna E. (Quintiliani) Tangherlini, age 86, of Weymouth, died peacefully, Friday, May 23, 2025 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Anna was born in Quincy, to the late Loreta (Fabrizio) and Pompeo Quintiliani. Raised and educated in Quincy, she was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1958. She lived in Weymouth for nearly sixty years.

Anna worked as a paraprofessional in the afterschool program at the Lawrence W. Pingree Elementary School in Weymouth for many years. She had previously worked for a short time as an instructor’s aide at the former Boyajian Dance School in Quincy and in the purchasing department for Bethlehem Steel at the former Fore River Shipyard in Quincy.

She enjoyed crafts and making trips to casinos, particularly Twin River in Rhode Island. Anna was an avid traveler with her late husband, John. She also loved to cook and dine at restaurants with her family.

Most of all, she was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, actively supporting their many activities and accomplishments. She also found great joy in the presence of her great grandchildren.

Beloved wife for sixty years of the late John A. “Snooky” Tangherlini.

Devoted mother of Jayne M. McKenna of Weymouth, Robert P. Tangherlini and his wife Kathy of Cohasset, Mark D. Tangherlini of Weymouth, and the late John A. Tangherlini, Jr.

Loving grandmother of Alida, Jessica, Marissa, Nickolas, and Daniel.

Cherished great grandmother of Lucas, Stella, Aedan, Gianna, and Austin.

Dear sister of the late Gina Costa and the late Joseph Quintiliani.

Anna is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Thursday, May 29, from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, on Friday, May 30, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.

For those who wish, donations in Anna’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
