Antonio Sodano, age 87, of Quincy, died peacefully, Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at the Massachusetts General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Antonio was born in Pomigliano d’Arco, Naples, Italy, to the late Angelo and Annunziata (Esposito) Sodano. He was raised and educated there. He immigrated to the United States in 1969, settling in Quincy, where he lived for the past fifty-six years.
Antonio was a well-respected master craftsman, spending most of his career with Scott and Duncan of Roxbury.
He enjoyed spending time at his brother Angelo’s auto repair shop, Quincy Foreign Car Center in Quincy, engaging in conversation and drinking espresso.
Antonio had a passion for soccer and was an avid fan of SSC Napoli.
Beloved husband for sixty years of Dora (Esposito) Sodano.
Devoted father of Angelo Sodano and his wife Lee of Quincy, Sabatino Sodano and his wife Christiane of Needham, and Annunziata “Nancy” Varela and her husband David of Weston.
Loving grandfather of Antonio and Mateo; Sophia, Isabella, and Sabatino; Massimo, Solana, and Marcello.
Dear brother of Angelo Sodano and his wife Donata of Brighton, and predeceased by Gelsomina Donofrio and her husband Salvatore, and Salvatore Sodano.
A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, on Saturday, March 1, at 9:30 a.m.
