Armand R. Cinelli, age 96

Armand R. Cinelli, age 96, of Quincy, died peacefully, Monday, September 2, 2024 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He had a remarkable gift for always being happy, smiling, and spreading joy to everyone around him, no matter the day.

He lived ninety-six years full of love, laughter, and a few too many scratch tickets, always believing the next one was the big winner. When he wasn’t scratching away, you could find him at the horse track cheering on his favorites with unmatched enthusiasm.

Armand was born in Boston, to the late Rocco and Brigida (Recchia) Cinelli. He was raised and educated in East Boston. He lived in Quincy for over thirty-five years, previously in Dorchester.

He was proud to have served in the United States Army with Company F, 167th Infantry, 31st Division, Ft. Jackson, S.C., during the Korean conflict.

Armand was employed as a foreman for the Boston Redevelopment Authority for over thirty years and had been retired for many years.

Beloved husband of the late Esther (Hubert) Cinelli.

Devoted father of Donna Cinelli and her partner Kathy Benedict of Barre, Cheryl A. Cinelli of Abington, Joanne Cinelli of Milford, and the late Joseph Cinelli.

Loving grandfather of Christopher, Taylor, and Joseph.

Cherished great grandfather of Christopher, Jayden, Cassie, Cameron, and Callahan.

The last of eleven siblings, he was predeceased by Rosemarie Del Prato, Jean Russo, James Cinelli, Vincent Cinelli, Nina Piazza, Josephine Economou, Pauline Natale, Marguerite Rivera, Helen Malcalvo, and Olga Cinelli.

Armand is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Committal Services, with military honors, will be conducted at St. Joseph Cemetery, 990 LaGrange Street, West Roxbury, on Thursday, September 12, at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Those attending should gather at the main entrance at 12:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Armand’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
