Arthur J. Giordani, age 92

Arthur J. Giordani, age 92, a lifelong Quincy resident and proud Houghs Necker, died peacefully, Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, surrounded by his loving family.

Arthur was born in Quincy, to the late Joseph and Lillian (Coron) Giordani. Raised and educated there, he was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1951. He lived in Houghs Neck for his entire life and with his late wife, were winter residents of Naples, Florida for thirty-five years.

Arthur was proud to have served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. He achieved the rank of Airman 1/c and received several awards, including the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the former Houghs Neck American Legion Post #350.

He was employed as a senior technical artist and had worked for MIT for over thirty years. As a young man, Arthur began his career at the former Fore River Shipyard in Quincy with the Bethlehem Steel Company.

After his retirement, Arthur worked with his sons, Mark and Jeffrey, in their swimming pool business for a number of years. He enjoyed golfing but took pleasure working as a golf ranger in Florida for thirty years, at The Glades Golf Course and at the Royal Woods Golf Club.

Arthur was a man of faith, and with his late wife Joan, were active members at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Quincy.

He was a talented artist and enjoyed oil painting. In his retirement, he loved watching western movies with his signature rum and coke.

Most of all, Arthur was devoted to his family, children, and grandchildren, actively supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.

Beloved husband for sixty-eight years of the late Joan M. (Duffy) Giordani who died on April 23, 2026.

Devoted father of Mark F. Giordani and his wife Donna of Quincy, Jeff P. Giordani and his wife Tina of Norwood, J. Denise Lawless and her husband Billy of Quincy, the late Lynne C. Papalambros, her surviving husband Larry of Weymouth, and his fiancée, Marianne.

Loving grandfather of Lambros Papalambros, Joshua Giordani, Q.F.D. and his wife Alaina, Jessica Aikens and her husband Jim Aikens, Q.P.D., Matthew Giordani and his wife Caroline, Michael Giordani and his wife Julie, Jeffrey Giordani and his wife Jacqueline, Felicia Callahan, Q.P.D. and her husband Joseph, and Justin Lawless and his wife Kathleen.

Loving great grandfather of twelve with another great grandson on the way.

Dear cousin of Albert Giordani of Braintree and his daughters, Lisa Giordani and Amy Ricciardi and her husband Q. Arthur is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Arthur’s funeral services took place privately. A Funeral Mass was celebrated in Holy Trinity Parish at Most Blessed Sacrament Church and interment, with military honors, took place at Mount Wollaston Cemetery.
