Arthur M. Fitzgerald, age 77, died peacefully, in his sleep, on Saturday, August 8, 2026 after a long illness.

Artie (also known as “Fitzie”) was a Vietnam veteran, decorated soldier, and construction worker, was loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

Born in South Boston, Artie was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Fitzgerald, his sister, Joanie, and his longtime partner, Cindy Stewart.

Fitzie’s family wants to extend their gratitude at this time to the wonderfully caring nursing staff at the Brockton VA Hospital, and in particular, RNs Andrea and Ralph, and Social Worker, Carin.

At the request of the family, funeral services were conducted privately. Interment took place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
